"When the disciples saw Him walking on the lake, they were terrified. 'It's a ghost!' they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to them,
'Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid.'
'LORD, if it's You,' Peter replied, 'tell me to come to You on the water.'
'Come.' He said. " Matthew 14:26-29
All Jesus said was 'come'. All Peter had to do was look at, and focus on Jesus; not the wind, not the rain, or the waves around him. But when he looked anywhere other than Christ, he began to sink. (Matthew 14:29-31) But He was and is always quick to answer our cry for help (Matt. 14:30-31)
It is easy to be distracted by the 'storm' around us. Easy to listen to the loud voices of those around us, to society today, instead of the one Voice that matters.
He may not tell you where, what or how; but if He says come, all you have to do is go. Look only at His face, listen only to His voice. I pray we may all know our Shepherd's voice, and follow Him alone.
